Julia Perkins is the founder and chief strategist of MBMD Strategic Consultants LLC.  She has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, management, and audience engagement/ development. Julia is known within the field for her unique ability to break down complex organizational issues, analyze them, and creatively develop solutions.

Prior to establishing MBMD Consultants, Julia served as Community Programs Director for eight years at The Art Institute of Chicago, where she developed strategies, evaluation systems, and designed arts education programs to promote involvement between the city's diverse communities and the museum.  She served seven years as a Program Officer for the AFL-CIO working with labor unions in the Caribbean and Central America.  Julia also was a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps.  She received her B.A. in Marketing Research from DePaul University and a M.A. in Arts Administration from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Perkins was one of the co-authors of "Mapping Cultural Participation in Chicago", for The University of Chicago Cultural Policy Center.
